You’re gonna need a passport valid for at least 6 months after your departure. So they won’t let you fly from Amsterdam to Tanzania if this passport isn’t valid for 6 months after you’re gonna depart from Tanzania. You’re gonna land in Tanzania, it’s a large tarmac landing strip and a very small terminal. When you arrived you’re gonna walk in to the building, you’re gonna need to buy your visa and you’re gonna need to go through customs. It takes 15-20 minutes in the line to go through and get your visa. The visa is a hundred dollars, it’s a multi entry visa, it’s good for one year and you need a brand new hundred-dollar bill. So they’re gonna take your picture, you’ll fill out your paper work, you’ll pay for your visa at the window, then you’ll go back in, you’ll get in another line that goes through customs. When you go through customs they’re gonna do fingerprints, that are just electronic, they’re gonna take your photo, they’re gonna stamp your passport and you’re gonna go through and collect your bags Occasionally, they searched through your bags. If you do bring snacks for your climb, make sure that you are bringing you know, power bars or dry goods, things that are not perishable. You’re not gonna be able to enter with any kind of perishable items. So once you’ve collected your bags, they come up in a carousel, you’ll get a cart, you’ll come wheeling out the door and we’ll be waiting there. You’ll see us holding the world wide trekking logo and that’ll be your ride to the lodge.
