Hello and welcome to ePIG! I´ve already shown you the Glock19X.
You can see this review here: Today i wanna show you something similar:
Also with short barrel but fullsize grip: The P320 Carry
And what´s so special about the P320 wh will show you now First it is the first striker fired pistol from Sig Sauer
established 2014 to compete the Glocks You can see that more and more duty pistols are striker fired.
As the new pistol of the US Army is the P320, for example. There were problems with the drop safety of the P320.
But Sig has figured that out and offers free upgrades for all older P320s The unique feature of the P320 is its modularity
You can easily change barrel length, caliber and gripsize I will show you the exchange of the grip modul later,
which makes the gun fitting to every hand and every situation But first let me show you the features of the gun! There are front serations
(The G19X doesn´t have that) The Gun has 3-Dot-Stee-Sights
which are no night sights This is the Take-Down-Lever The P320 has a picatinny rail to mount lights, lasers or in my case the MantisX training system This is the ambi slide release This is the MagRelease Button which is not ambi but you can change its side for left handed shooters The grip has a very pleasant texturing.
and a cutout for easier grabbing your mags. The unique feature for germany is, that the serial no. sits on the trigger unit and so you can change the grip without any legal issues So you need no approval from the government, you just buy and change the grip.
That doesn´t work on Glocks where the serial no. sits on the grip This legal speciality makes it easy for every P320-Owner to fit the SetUp of the Gun to his needs and his handsize But there are also Grips on the after market like from B&T out of Switzerland which has a foldable stock, suitable for some sport disciplines and as a personal defence weapon Now i will show you how to change the grip Here we got a Carry and a FullSize P320
The Carry has a short barrel and a fullzise griplength.
The Fullsize has a longer barrel with the same fullsize griplength And this is the Grip of the P320 Compact.
With the same shot barrel and slide of the Carry but with shorter Grip The longer 17er Mags of the Carry and Fullsize will fit in the Compact but the short 15er Mags of the Compact will not fit in the Carry and Fullsize. So we take the Carry, lock the slide back and check safety Then we turn the Take Down Lever into the strip position Let the slide go forward and take it off Now we can pull out the take down lever, because it holds the trigger unit Now we can pull out the trigger unit Now we take the Compact Grip and do everything reverse First we have to fit in the trigger unit correct into its position, this can be a little tricky Then we can reassembly the take down lever which has a little chamfer, this is also a bit tricky.
The take down lever remains in the strip position! Now we take the slide of the Carry and slide it on the grip and lock it back. Then we turn the take down lever in the locked position and let the slide go forward. And this is how you turn your P320 Carry into a P320 Compact which is easier to conceal So you can have a P320 with longer grip for competition and with short grip for concealed carry Or you can have an additional grip for your wife or husband.
Also interesting for clubs where different people have to shot the same gun. And what is our opinion on the P320?
I like how its shoots, especially with fitting grip. The Gun has a slightly bigger felt recoil because of the higher bore axis And at the moment there are problems to get the grips in germany, but SIG claimed to improve the situation, because this is the main selling point of the gun. We hope that there will be the different grips soon available in all sizes and colors And now i hope that we could show you what´s so special about the P320 and you liked this review.
