Hey you mob, it’s Shari and Elaine and
we’re on the set of Miranda Tapsell’s new feature film Top End Wedding. Woo! Have
you ever wanted to make a film? Do you have a short film idea that you have
just been busting to make? Well here’s your chance! The Indigenous Department at Screen Australia is doing a call out for some
Short Blacks – where Miranda? I’m sure I saw Ursula [Yovich] here somwhere. Anyway, they want
dynamic Indigenous screen stories, authored, crafted and written by
Indigenous people. We want you to be bold! And black. And black and beautiful.
This short film funding initiative is for emerging filmmakers from across the
country. Hey Shari? Yeah? What do you have to do? Well all you have to do is submit
a 10-minute first draft short film script. Huh. Do you have to have
experience in screenwriting and production? Nothing. What about an interest in this field? Essential.
There’s no extensions on this, so get writing, get your scripts in and check
out the details for the application below. Mm-hmm. It’s all there. I hope I get a
job in one of these. Yeah, I better get a job in one of these films.
