Welcome to another episode of Sarawkians experience Today, we are at the Sarawak Boat Club and we are ready to go for a cruise to the Kuching Wetland National Park to see some dolphins and the evening, we will go for the (night wildlife cruise) Firstly, we are supposed to depart but- due to the weather conditions the rain because of the rain we are still here Ya but we are going to santubong the mouth of santubong and if we are lucky, we might be able to see some Irrawaddy dolphins the one that looks like this not like this like that Are we ready to go? yes. We are here at Kampung Salak, the only village that can be reached by boat as you can see all the boats and opposite, is the wetlands We have more than 200 families almost 300 The people in the village here, 60-70% of them are fishermen The remaining balance they work in the private sector they work as government servants Everything is supplied by the government and when you talk about the electricity they only had it recently in the mid of 2013, in April Eman: Eee durians! So.. we just had our lunch we’re all very full and very sleepy but we still have the second part of our tour to go to so..we’re here for the..? Santubong Santubong Wild Santubong Wild wild wildlife night life no no no no! Santubong Wildlife Night Cruise! yes! so I think we’ll go up further in to the river where we’ll look at mangrove trees are we going to the charcoal factory? yes spot some more crocodiles and I think we’re all most excited to see fireflies! yes! You would not believe your eyes~ if ten million fireflies~ kk ready? See you guys on the boat Night life Woo! We’re going for the nightlife safari! it’s like.. every time we change the name bah you lah! So you can move around, but dont jump into the water Maybe one of the dolphins might be named after you? This is like an open zoo we’re very lucky today because we saw the dolphins we saw everything we saw the dolphins we saw the monkey we saw.. crocodiles everything that we wanted to see, we saw! So, we did mention just now that we’re gonna see fireflies so we’re gonna wait until it’s dark and then we’re gonna catch catch catch them we can’t catch it actually we’re very excited because we are city people and we’re *beep* Sakai (lack of exposure) we’re very sakai but yes! I can’t wait to see their butts blink blink blink so..we have another monkey up here where? they are known as the long tail macaque oh..this one always steal people’s food one Kan? yes.. the crab eating monkey or the mafia monkey ya.. the gangsters! eee..so cute that one! PD: so small!! babe! so small look that one’s so small why are you guys standing? butt cramp, butt cramp ya. my ass have to stretch a while he always cramp every episode something’s cramped Eman..you just.. Ryan: next time you see he cramp his fingernails Better you just stay in the box like Annabelle like that Just stay! Everything cannot do! Water, land, everything.. LOUSY BODY~ We are now in the charcoal factory Look at all the charcoal here even the floor is charcoal So basically they burn the wood it doesnt take few hours or whatever they burn burn burn burn burn until it becomes black and “charcoaly” this is one big oven see? See the oven there? huh! you see the oven? Don : this is the Hansel and Gretel house So basically this is like a huge oven to make charcoal and this whole place is built by uncle! and it only took him 20 plus days! so fast! So uncle Chieh is the owner of this place and he use all this to make- 60 years, he’s been doing this! wow, now its going to 70 years and I asked him is it tiring? He said no He’s used to it already Stronk! Strong man! See you again Thank you uncle, thank you bye bye! So basically, we went there to see how charcoal is made and how long, and where it’s made so, we saw it, and we saw a very friendly funny uncle also ya! it’s not easy to make charcoal and he wants to marry her ya! and he said when you go to see the fireflies, make a wish, and wish that I become old so that I can come back and marry him HA HA HA! let me see.. let me consider so we saw a few fire- fireflies on the trees and it looks like christmas trees! don’t think you guys can see it la but it was very cute Fun Fact! Did you know that fireflies are actually beetles? one of the beetle species and they blink, because they are looking for mates they’re not flies ah Can you guys see? Off the lights! eh? EH? What is that? crocodile? christmas tree, oh christmas tree~ Hi guys, this is the end of our adventure today and we weren’t expecting to see so many things but we were damn lucky today!
