I’m hunting with my wife Liza here in
Northwest Pennsylvania for her very first deer ever and Wired Outdoors starts
right now. Hello and welcome to Wired Outdoors we have a great show for you today and I think at the beginning of every hunting season hunters out there
set certain goals. This year I had a lot of goals. I wanted to see my little girl
Addison get her very first deer ever and fortunately that happened. She shot a
great spike but I wanted to shoot a big buck in Pennsylvania and I was fortunate
to take my biggest buck ever but I had another goal this season and it was to
see my wife Liza who had never been hunting before take her very first deer
ever with her new Mathews Avail bow so let’s get right to Liza’s hunt and see
if she can get it done on her very first deer ever. [music] Draw. No Draw RIght behind the shoulder. Wait wait wait wait wait wait I can’t. Right behind the shoulder.
Now Wait wait Now right behind the shoulder.
[bow shot] Nice shot Addison! Liza
Ok watch her watch watch Hey way to hold it together that was hard
cuz you had to wait till she turned broad side. Good job hey you got it back. I’m proud of ya I think we’ll get her we might have to wait till tomorrow Hey nice job break the rock Okay here we are as you saw last night I
think Liza made a really good shot on this doe. It’s really cold out here
today so I went home watched the footage I decided you know what we’re just gonna
be safe we’re gonna let it go overnight but it was a quartering away shot. We had
good blood here in the food plot we just looked in the food plot we didn’t go
into the the goldenrods here at all and we decided to wait till this morning to
come back and look for this deer. I think we’re gonna get Liza’s this first deer
what do you think?
Yup. She’s not a morning person
let’s get see if we can find it. Okay I have good news here we’ve been looking for a
while and we’ve trailed this thing – almost probably 200 to 250 yards and in
goldenrods and anyone that’s done that before they know that’s tough but I found Liza’s
deer but she hasn’t seen it yet so I’m gonna have her walk up and get it. What do you think?
Go to your right a little bit Yeah what do you know? What do you think?
Hey what do you think? Good job laying right here you can see
had to walk right up on her there is Liza’s deer. Hey good job man. Give me five. You found your first deer awesome. As you can see we recovered Liza’s deer. Was sweating it for a little bit it got in these golden rods
and anybody who’s tracked in golden rods before it is tough. But Liza did a great
job she actually found blood when it was going the other way.
And it went about 200 250 yards it was dead within a couple minutes last night.
She was a little bit back but I’m sure she got liver. Great shot I’m super proud of
her she’s been working all summer long shooting her new Matthews Avail and she
shoots it lights out she’s doing great It took her a while to be able to get
strong enough because she had to shoot left-handed because she’s left eye
dominant but she worked hard all summer long this is her second year hunting
with me this is her very first deer you gonna go hunt again?
Yeah So awesome as a husband to take her out to get her first deer and have her enjoy it and
just to spend time in the outdoors and this year has been unbelievably
successful with my daughter Addison getting her first deer ever. Colin took
a doe. I have a goal of getting Colin his first buck with the bow. I shot my
biggest buck ever I don’t know how it can get much better so to all you guys
and girls out there take some family members hunting and thank you all for
joining us on Wired Outdoors. Congratulations Liza a great shot and I know there’s guys out there starting to shake their
head – oh great the next couple wants to be Lee and Tiffany and that couldn’t be
farther from the truth all I know is I think it is so awesome
that my wife Liza it came to me and said she would like to start shooting a bow
and that evolved into her going hunting she only likes to hunt when it’s warm
she doesn’t like being out when it’s cold but none of that matters to me what
matters that she wants to spend time with me in the outdoors and I don’t
think there is anything more awesome than spending time with family in the
outdoors so Liza thank you for hunting with me and thank
you all for joining us on Wired Outdoors.
