Etosha is the largest nature park in Namibia. We entered through the Anderson Gate and left via the Von Lindequist Gate. There is little high vegetation, so you can spot animals easily. Of the Big Five only the buffalo are not found here. But the large numbers of leopards, lions, elephants and rhinos more than make up for this.. The best chance of seeing wildlife is around the water holes. In the dry season there is not much water to be found and that attracts many animals here. The waterholes at the camps are illuminated at night. Etosha means large white plain. It is a shallow salt flat of up to 5000 km2 about the size of the province of Noord-Brabant or Gelderland. Between the water holes you drive on gravel roads where you can not go faster than 60 km per hour, because before you know it, there is wildlife crosses over. More than three hundred species of birds, and 100 species of mammals including 300 black rhinos make a visit an unforgettable event. This video is just a summary of what you can see here.
