Hi, I’m QDC. What we’re going to build today is Bronco models US GPW 1/4 Ton 4×4 Utility Truck. This is better known as the Willys Jeep. And the reason why I think that
Bronco Models didn’t used the word Willys Jeep on their model is because the word “Jeep” is a registered trademark of the Chrysler corporation. And I don’t think they have permission
to use that particular name for the model kit. This as
a recent release kit I think this also a direct competition to Tamiya’s Willys Jeep so I was pretty
curious when this first came out and i want to know if this particular
model kit will be better than Tamiya’s kit, their Willys Jeep of their own. So before we start building this kit, I had an opportunity to see a real Willys Jeep and I want to show you that Willys Jeep before we start building this kit. Take a look. Lets take a look inside this box. We have the body the Jeep. Machine-gun. Figures. Engine block. Rear differential. Wheels. Part of the trailer. More wheels. Chassis. Backpacks. Jerry cans. Clear plastic parts. Decals. Instruction sheet. Advertisement. And a poster. I want to talk to you about Bronco Models exceptional instruction sheet. This instruction sheet is more of a
instruction booklet. It’s a very large booklett with very large
illustrations and even some of the pages have color
references like right over here and over here. This is the best set of instructions I’ve seen in the
manufacture. Very nice. I want to talk to you about the details for the
chassis and also be engine. The engine is highly
detailed engine. It includes a realistic-looking fan, alternator, the head, the engine itself, with the
transmission and good differentials for both the rear
wheel drive and for the front wheel drive. It even
has shock absorbers on each particular wheel. The chassis itself is highly detailed looks very realistic
and the tires are so realistic that it even
has the rubber “Ford” stamped on
each rubber tire. I want to talk to you about the options that
Bronco Models offer you. They offer you a choice between other
having a .30 caliber machine gun or a
.50-caliber machine gun for your Jeep. I’m going to choose the .30 caliber machine gun. I want to show you the exquisite detail its machine
gun. This machine that has everything you
expect from a real machine gun. It has the trigger, the grip, the rear sight, the cover, the belt slide and the bolt handle. Very high detailed machine gun. Okay, so I built a kit. And not it’s time for me show you what I
think about the this model kit so far. Take a look. This is the completed model kit before painting and this is the best model Jeep that I have ever built. This blows away the competition Tamiya. Because the answer is
obvious. Every single part on this Jeep
and the trailer is extremely well detailed. You get very
well detailed wheels, steering wheel, a great machine gun, and interior is great! It is mind-blowing. This is…I can’t say any bad words about this particular model
kit. You are paying every single penny’s worth and you probably
get more for your money. What’s even better is that you
can show off the interior as well. I could simply take off the body and you get to see the beautiful engine
inside with the transmission, differentials, and even there’re a shock absorbers on each wheel. And what tops that off is at the trailer is you can take the top off and you get to see the interior of the
trailer. Now that is awesome! It’s time for me to paint my model. I gave my model a coat of
primer and then I paint the model black. Now
I’m going to use my airbrush and paint entire model with the base color. I’m going to spray my model with a
coat a Future Floor Wax to protect it. It’s time to give my model wash. What you see right
here is a solution of mineral spirits and black artist oil paint. I’m going
simply give the entire model a wash. I’m going to give my tire model some
paint fading and some dust effects. Olive drab paint tends to yellow as it fades and so I’m going to use a
buff color and give the entire model if filter to
represent both paint fading and also dust effects. I’m going to add mud effects. I’m going to add a solution of water and yellow glue. I’m going to put that on to the places
where I want mud. And right run over here is tile grout. Ordinary
tile grout and I’m going to use that to sprinkle onto places where I want mud. Alright so I built the kit, I painted it, I weathered it, and now it’s time for me to
show you my entire model kit from the beginning to the end. Take a look. This is the completed model kit after painting and weathering and this is the best model Jeep I have ever built. And Bronco Models model, in my opinion, is
very, very, good model kit company. What I like about this model kit the best is all the small details that Bronco Models
added to this model kit. I esspecially like the name “Ford” on the wheels and also the “Ford” name on the back. For those of you who don’t
know, Willys-Overland produced their Jeep, they could not produce enough of them for
the military so the Ford company had to help Jeep but doing their own cars. What I
like about this model kit the best is that you could
can take off the body and then you could see the engine and the complete chassis with the two
differentials and it looks beautiful. You can also
take off the top of the trailer and then you can
see the interior. I like it. This model kit I recommend for both the expert and
intermediate alike. Sorry folks. If you’re a beginner I
honestly don’t think this is a good kit for you because it’s really complicated. That completes this model kit. So what you’re about to see next is a video slideshow of my entire model project but before I go,
as always, just because I put this video here on
YouTube, it doesn’t make me a model kit expert. I am not and expert. I’m just a regular
guy just like you. I hope this video it
encourages you to build a model kit of your own. Either it’s a model tank, a model plane, a model train, or even an automobile. It
doesn’t matter. In the end, it’s all about having fun. I’m
QDC thanks for watching and always please have a great day!
