Good morning from Jaci’s Lodges in South Africa! If you are keen to know what a day on safari looks like and what animals you really get to see then this video is for you! Greg and I will spend the next 3 days in this private Game Reserve Madikwe and will briefly touch on why we are here and what we’re doing here. The main motive of course is to see and photograph the Big Five in their natural habitat. I have been to Northern Africa, but never seen a lion in the wild and of course that had to become a part of our Africa adventure. You might be familiar with the term “influencer marketing” however, Greg and I are not really influencer, more content creators. In this case Jaci’s Lodges is not our contractor, but our partner. We had a similar cooperation with Mora Travel in Madagascar; I will link that video up there. Throughout the next few days we will be taking photos and filming our experience, Jaci’s Lodges and of course the amazing wildlife and share this content with the camp afterwards. So I would say, let’s jump right into one (production) day on Safari campaign! 5 am at Jaci’s Lodges! …and the first animals of the day are elephants! Giraffes on the road! We have stopped because our guides are searching for the African Wild Dog, which allows me to quickly talk about the term “Big Five”… The Big Five are elephants, lions leopards, rhinos and buffalos. Their name however has nothing to do with their body size, but because back in the days they were the most difficult to hunt. Therefore still to this day – Big Five. Wir haben die Wildhunde gefunden! Ich filme die Hunde mit der 100-400 und… WOW. What Greg is photographing behind me is a rhino!! We are incredibly lucky this morning….! Wow, what a fantastic morning safari! We saw elephants, giraffes and in the end even the African Wild Dogs, which was very special So I’m super excited for the game drive this afternoon but now it’s time to have bite to eat, we’re having brunch charging our batteries and repacking… And then we’re ready to go again! With new energy for the second drive and we are leaving a little earlier than originally planned, because some guides have spotted leopards a few kilometres from here – and of course we don’t want to miss them! Ein zivilisierter Elefant…. We are clearly entering leopard territory, and he must be close because up there, that’s his kill! Our guides from the Jaci’s Lodge are just fantastic. We have now found the leopard, sleeping under that tree and normally they are really hard to find. For someone like me who has never been on safari the Madikwe Game Reserve is perfect. Animals are super chill and come right up to the jeep I think we are about to complete the Big Five…!! The King of the Animals – right there…! So, let’s go home, right? Since I was a little girl I have always been fascinated by cheetahs. And we have just received notice that not far from here they have spotted two cheetahs. So of course we will go check them out! The cheetahs are chilling right behind us in the grass, destroying their kill. My very first safari and we saw 2 cheetahs! I am suuuper happy. What a great safari adventure! Cheers! With all the excitement I totally forgot to film an outro! The last hours were incredibly exciting because we were lucky to see the Big Five up close – and many more beautiful animals. Especially seeing the cheetahs for me was a life dream come true. And I hope I have inspired you to maybe go on safari yourself one day because what it taught me was that animals and humans can definitely coexist peacefully. If you are new to this channel I would appreciate a comment and a couple of likes because our Africa adventure is not over yet. Next week we are heading to Mozambique… until then thank you for watching and Tschüss from Jaci’s Lodges in Africa!
